We face the challenge of how to be Christians at work. Do we silo ourselves off? Do we just go along with things, even if questionable? Or is there another way?
On whom have you placed your trust? Yourself? Your job, your success, your career? Have you found the Sabbath rest your soul has been looking for all these years?
As children of a postmodern age, we feel dislocated and cut adrift. As Christians, we become surrogate children of Abraham and HIStory.
What work makes my heart beat, captivates me, and makes me not want to retire? What work partners me with kingdom of God purposes, and brings heaven to earth?
Too often we practice a Sabbath of selfishness. Or self-righteousness. But what of a Sabbath of justice? Or self-examination? This Sabbath, you and I have work to do.
